New offices for rent along the E40 in Drongen
In The Yard is being built along the E40 in Drongen. The complex comprises 5.000 square metres of offices and 2.500 square metres of storage space.
During the construction of the project the most modern building techniques will be used.
The passive house principle will be used for the construction of the offices, which means that there will be extensive insulation and a high air density will be created.
The use of geothermal energy in combination with heat pumps and 650 solar panels with a capacity of 250 kVA makes the use of fossil fuels superfluous.
Passive cooling via climate ceilings, a ventilation system with heat recovery, a rainwater storage with a capacity of 20,000 litres, water-free or water-saving sanitary appliances and green roofs to buffer rainwater are the other sustainable techniques integrated into the building. A system for the local purification of waste water will also be installed.
On top of the roof there will be a city garden where tenants can reap the benefits.
